Studio / Minnesota · Remote
Independent by structure. Collaborative by nature.
Etherstep is a small Minneapolis web design and development studio for expert-led businesses, creative teams, home and property brands, and organizations that want sharper thinking, direct collaboration, and a finished product built to last.
DESIGN / DEVELOPMENT / CONTENT SYSTEMS
The point of view
The best studio relationship feels less like passing a brief down a hallway and more like making the decisions together at the same table.
Etherstep brings design and development into the same conversation. That makes the visual system more realistic, the build more considered, and the content easier to shape before it becomes expensive to change.
The work is grounded in real business needs: show the work clearly, explain the offer, earn trust, and give a prospective client a sensible next step.
Working principles
A practical kind of craft.
Make the idea clear
A good interface cannot rescue a vague story. The work starts by deciding what matters and what can get out of the way.
Design the whole system
Pages, content, motion, editing, and maintenance are connected. They are treated as one experience from the start.
Use restraint on purpose
Not every surface needs an effect. Typography, spacing, real imagery, and a few deliberate moments usually carry more weight.
Leave it easier to run
A site succeeds after handoff when the content has structure, the code has discipline, and the owner knows what to do next.
Etherstep × Minneplenka
Two disciplines. One visual conversation.
Etherstep leads digital strategy, design, development, and content architecture. Minneplenka remains a distinct photography and film practice. When a project needs both, the media is planned for the interface instead of being dropped into it at the end.
